Born 1 June 1926, Marilyn Monroe is famous for playing comedic "blonde bombshell" characters and became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and early 1960s. Starring in iconic films such Some Like It Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and the Seven Year Itch, she became beloved worldwide before her untimely death, at the age of 36, on August 4th 1962.

Continuing on Steiff's latest series 'Famous Woman of the World', this elegant Marilyn Monroe teddy bear has been crafted from the finest, wavy bleached-blonde mohair fabric. She features black glass eyes with winged details, a light brown hand-stitched nose with beauty spot and opulent red embroidered lips. She wears her iconic white halter dress, from the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch, made from a plisse fabric with a wired hem to add shape that recreates the famous scene! For the perfect finishing touch, she wears a pair of faux pearl earrings and has cream-coloured satin paws, the left of which is printed with a pair of lips and a 100th birthday logo.

This Marilyn Monroe teddy bear is limited to only 926 pieces worldwide and comes with her numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original protective cardboard outer sleeve.
