90th Anniversary Master and Miss Bruno by Dean's - 40cm

Dean's

Catalogue number: DEANSMB90

In celebration of Dean's 90th Anniversary in 1993, they created this gorgeous pair based on it's 1915 ‘Kuddlemee’ catalogue, which contained green line illustrations of 3 mohair bears. Manufactured in their factory in Pontypool, Gwent, where it's production of limited edition collector teddy bears began, these two lovely bears are treasures to be cherished for generations to come!

Master and Miss Bruno have been crafted from gorgeously dense and fluffy golden mohair fabric and feature shaved muzzles with black handstitched noses, large glass eyes and brown suedette paw pads - of which the right foot is decorated with the 'Deans Rag Book' label. Master Bruno is dressed in a blue and white striped cotton shirt with white Eton collar, satin bow detailing and blue velvet trousers, whilst Miss Bruno wears a brown, blue and white cotton dress with broderie anglaise trim and white satin bow detail and red and white cotton pantaloons - with all outfits being made from fine cotton lawn specially printed in the style featured in the line drawings.

Both Master and Miss Bruno were limited to only 1500 pieces worldwide - with this special, pair being number 3's of the edition - and come in their original presentation boxes with their certificates and booklets that share the history of Dean's Rag Book Co.

The Dean's Rag Book Company Ltd was originally established in London in 1903 and was the first British company to produce teddy bears in 1915. Dean’s made many types of toys from rag books to beautifully crafted dolls, teddy bears and even famous characters like Mickey Mouse. Limited editions were introduced to the range in 1990, establishing the company as one of the best-known teddy bear manufacturers. More recently, a company merger and new management has started a new chapter in the Dean’s story.
