This regal teddy bear has been created in honour of new monarch, King Charles III. The new king was officially proclaimed on the 10th September 2023, two days after the very sad passing of his mother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the 8th September at the age of 96. It is fitting that Hermann Spielwaren have created this fine teddy bear, as the company has a proud history of creating royal teddy bears.
This teddy bear is filled with traditional wood shavings and has a tilt growler in his body. He is made from lovely traditional brown mohair. He wears a white satin fabric shirt collar and a black taffeta tie, which is styled on the outfit worn by King Charles III at the official proclamation. His foot paws are elaborately embroidered.
This is an open edition with each teddy bear featuring their individual number on their left foot paw.
German teddy bear manufacturer Hermann Spielwaren was founded by Max Hermann in 1920. Today the company is based in Coburg (the hometown of Prince Albert) and is run by his grandchildren, Dr Ursula and Martin Hermann.
