The Merrythought Bear from The Heritage Collection by Merrythought - 45cm

During their milestone 95th anniversary year, Merrythought are proudly recreating a small selection of their most iconic designs - straight from the company's archives.
Named as their Heritage Collection, these wonderful pieces will delve back into the earliest years of Merrythought and see the return of some truly unique characters, which have been crafted using the same traditional skills and materials first embraced almost 100 years ago. 

The jewel in the crown of the Heritage Collection is this impressive and detailed replica of the original Merrythought Bear, one of the earliest creations by Florence Attwood, Merrythought's inaugural designer. Honouring the authentic details of the original teddy bear, this fully-jointed recreation is crafted from golden mohair plush fabric and chestnut coloured wool felt. It features black eyes surrounded with amber irises, 'growls' when tipped and wears a traditional off-centre wide scarlet satin bow.

This gorgeous traditional bear has been individually numbered as part of a special open edition and is presented in a grey cotton Merrythought presentation bag with certificate of authenticity.
