This exquisite teddy bear commemorates the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on 6th May 2023. This future heirloom, beautifully crafted in Merrythought's historic British factory in Ironbridge, will mark the first coronation in 70 years.
This incredible bear is made from a wavy golden mohair and features golden-yellow velvet paws, one of which is embroidered with the King’s official cypher and the other with the date of his coronation. He wears an imperial purple velvet robe, which is lined with satin and features a golden embroidered hem, Italian tassel detailing, as well as a white woven faux-fur trim.
As befitting of a new monarch, he comes with his very own spectacular silver-plated replica of the imperial state crown. Adorned with 26 glass gemstones, this crown has a velvet lining and a faux-fur trim, making it a masterpiece in its own right. This bear is finished off with a dazzling pair of deep blue eyes, a neatly hand-stitched nose and a warm, welcoming smile.
This bear is limited to 2023 pieces worldwide and is presented in a luxury Merrythought gift box with his certificate of authenticity.
Merrythought was founded in 1930 by Mr W.G. Holmes. Today the company is run by his great-granddaughters and production is still based on the original site in Ironbridge, Shropshire.
