The character Batman was originally created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and debuted in the 27th issue of the comic book Detective Comics on March 30 1939.
This incredible Batman teddy bear has been crafted from the finest black and grey mohair fabric, with the latter recreating his iconic outfit from the 1966 live action Batman television series. He features a hand-stitched black nose and mouth, black felt paws and his mohair illusion mask has pale grey embroidered eyebrows, while his eyes are lined with grey felt. He also features pointed ears to further recreate the famous mask! Batman wears a silky black cape with a serrated hem and a felt version of his famous utility belt, which has a golden faux leather belt buckle, decorated with laser engraving. Finally, on his chest is an applique of the Batman logo.
Batman is limited to 1,939 pieces and comes with a numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original protective cardboard outer sleeve.

Founded in 1880 by Margarete Steiff, the company motto is “Only the best is good enough for our children”. Credited with inventing the first teddy bear in 1902, the company is best known for its “Button in Ear” trademark.
