From August 2017 to July 2018, an original 1930s Merrythought bear proudly appeared upon an official Royal Mail 1st Class Stamp, as part of a special collection celebrating classic British toys. To commemorate this prestigious achievement, Merrythought have created an authentic replica of the iconic bear featured on the stamp - one of the oldest in their archives.
Crafted from the finest vintage-effect mohair; this delightful bear has traditional glass eyes and wool felt foot pads.
He is presented alongside a certificate incorporating the rare stamp, which is no longer available to purchase from the Royal Mail and is a real must-have for the Merrythought enthusiast.
He is individually numbered as part of a limited edition of just 200 pieces and comes in a luxury gift box.
Merrythought was founded in 1930 by Mr W.G. Holmes. Today the company is run by his great-granddaughters and production is still based on the original site in Ironbridge, Shropshire.
