Morris is an endearing soul. He is made from beautifully soft, slightly sparse mohair with thick suede paws. The striking airbrushing Gail has used on his muzzle, eyes, ears and paws really brings him to life. As with all of Gail's characters, he is filled with a mixture of steel shot and polyester to give him a lovely heavy weight. He also has boot-button style eyes, a lightly varnished nose and a wooden ear button.
Morris is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear and he has been made especially for The Bear Garden.
Gail started designing and making bears in 1995 for her son Connor and friends' children. She was then asked to make one for a charity auction in aid of a children's hospice in Edinburgh. Enquiries from shops soon followed and Bisson Bears was born. Gail's love of traditional and old bears comes out in her designs, which tend to be one-of-a-kind bears or very small editions.
