Jacoby by Frank Webster - 30cm

Frank Webster

Catalogue number: FW19JACO

Jacoby is an exquisite, traditional style teddy bear made from sparse honey blond mohair with a darker golden backing that peeps through. He has delightful two-tone eyes and his paws are made from thick wool felt with hand embroidered claw stitching, shaving and delicate airbrushing. Frank has given him a beautifully stitched nose with a light waxing effect. Jacoby is filled with polyester and some plastic pellets, which gives him a lovely weight and he wears a vintage cotton fabric bow around his neck.

Jacoby is a one-of-a-kind design and made especially for The Bear Garden.

Frank Webster has been making artist bears since 1988. His bear-making career was born out of repairing old bears in the antiques business. In 1992 he devoted himself fulltime to bear making. Frank has designed bears for a number of different companies and his bears are noted, not only for their quality,
but also for their warmth of character. This is borne from his belief that bears were traditionally made to be a lifelong friend rather than purely a collector’s item.
