Dawn the red squirrel wears a made-to-measure floral-print dress and a sweet cardigan. She is made from mohair and has glass eyes. Her nose, mouth and claws are embroidered in black thread and she is filled with polyester and poly-pellets to give her a little weight. The paws are crafted from the finest suedette fabric. An antique style brass pin SQ (Sue Quinn) badge is attached to her dress.
Sue Quinn has been making bears and other animals since childhood, but it was her move to Scotland in 1973 that prompted the beginning of her professional bear-making career. One of the UK's original bear artists, Sue's creations can be found in bear museums and collections all over the world over.
