Ailsa by Barbara-Ann Bears - 30cm

Barbara-Ann Bears

Catalogue number: BABAIL1

Ailsa is quite the work of art! She is crafted from fabric printed with a copy of a painting by Paula Stanford-Marsh of the Scottish island. This design is very personal to Barbara as she used to look across to Ailsa Craig whilst she worked when living in Turnberry. Ailsa also features a hand dyed mohair belly, in dreamy sunset hues, which is partially stuffed with poly-pellets to give her a slightly weighted feel. She also has wonderful hand painted glass eyes and painterly velvet foot pads.

Ailsa is a one-of-a-kind design made especially for The Bear Garden.

Barbara-Ann Bears are made by talented husband and wife team of Barbara-Ann and Andy Cunningham in Scotland. They are known around the world for their creative, colourful and wacky designs! Barbara hand-dyes her own mohair and fabrics, and as nearly every bear is a one-of-a-kind creation, no two are ever the same! Andy has the painstaking task of embroidering the noses. This is done from many layers of co-ordinating, soft-cotton tapestry thread, which perfectly complement the bear's mohair.
