In 1928, Richard Steiff presented "Buschy" to the world. Inspired by the roaring Twenties in America, this beautiful bear featured a new expression and striking blue eyes. Later, he was renamed as "Petsy" and nearly 11,000 examples of this bear were sold until 1930. The white Petsy bears made between 1928 and 1930 were rare custom made samples and were not generally produced. This exquisite replica of one of those sample bears is crafted to emulate the original from the carefully airbrushed aged white mohair to the hand embroidered brown nose, growler and traditional wood shavings stuffing. A replica patinated steel 'Button in Ear' and tag completes his authentic look and feel. His modern 'Button in Ear' is affixed to his side and like all of the limited editions created in Steiff's 140th Jubilee year in 2020, he has a gold plated 'Button in Ear' featuring the special celebratory elephant motif.
1928 Replica Petsy is limited to only 928 pieces and is presented with a numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with a cardboard outer sleeve.
