1933 Replica Ajax Dog by Steiff - 10cm

Steiff

Catalogue number: 403460

Steiff's range of dogs were in their heyday in the 1920's and 1930's. One of their most successful dogs; Ajax, the wire-haired fox terrier, was first available in 1933 but he was actually the successor of terriers produced as early as the late 1890's due to the popularity of this fun-loving breed. This enchanting replica of Ajax has been crafted from the finest mohair and is stuffed with wood shavings in the traditional way. He has endearing glass eyes and a delicately embroidered nose and mouth. He wears a ribbon bow and a jingle bell around his neck and he features a replica button in ear and red tag from the period, with his modern tag neatly hidden on his hind leg.

He is limited to just 933 pieces and comes with his numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original protective cardboard outer sleeve.
